“This ain’t no Joke”

The Jewish synagogue ruler has a young daughter who is ill. He decides he is going to see Jesus. He is a ruler which means he has some college and has some folks who should be able to get a prayer through. Sometimes our situation is so serious we have to seek who can get a prayer through. He had means to get the best doctors. Sick children play on our heart strings. This Jewish leader did all he could as a daddy. He took it to Jesus. Jesus has all POWER in His hands and He can handle it, we are too small. Before you do anything say a prayer. They all went down the way to Jairus house. We are so caught up in our own situation we forget others are going through. I like coming to church with the people who are going through what we are. We spoil our children because we don’t want them to go through. We went through and we are fine. This girl had complications. She could not worship God because her body was going through. The synagogue leader decided to “have a little talk with Jesus”.

This woman did not have a desire to talk; she did not have a one on one conversation with Jesus. She decided if she could just touch the hem of His garment. She felt the healing went beyond His physical touch; in her spirit she recognized if she could just get close enough to touch the hem of His garment she would be WHOLE. You can get healing on a pass by; while on others do not pass me by, even me Lord don’t pass me by. She got close enough while He was on the way to heal someone else. Just get close enough, Jesus can fix you up, heal you up, just get close enough. Jesus realized someone had just received a BLESSING, a healing, He felt it leave him. He knew who touched Him. He forces her to fess up. He told her, her faith had healed her

Some folks love bringing bad news; you know they are not calling to say “Hi”. No need to trouble Jesus anymore your daughter is dead. I am gonna trouble Jesus anyway. When you’re on a mission you don’t need a lot of folks. So Jesus took his “home boys” – Peter, James, John. During those days it was an insult if someone died and no one cried. When He got there they were already weeping and wailing. I am here to let you know in “2009” I am tired of weeping and wailing. I want Him to “open up the windows of heaven”. He said why are you weeping and wailing? Jesus knew He was the One to have the POWER to heal, the One to have the final say. Jesus will say no, not yet when people say it is over. When people say you are no good, your family is no good, Jesus can say I am the one to Bless the family. They laughed at Him when He said she is sleep. Some people laugh at our situation. They make fun of our heart ache. But Jesus said “This ain’t no joke” and put out all the doubters.

Folks say eternity is dead; folks say we would never have a “Black President”. In every situation Jesus has the last say. He put out all the depressing folks. You got to put out the depressing folks, so you can have some “praying time” and “primetime” with Jesus. He took His home boys, mom and dad and brought them together in the room, they raised her together; when all else fails “Call on Jesus and He RESTORED her to health”……………………….Mark 5:36-43
